
Stronger for Longer (S4L) is a welcoming small-group strength training class designed especially for older adults who want to stay active, independent, and confident. Using light to moderate weights in a safe, supportive environment, we focus on improving strength, balance, posture, and everyday mobility.
Whether you’re new to weights or looking to maintain your fitness, this class moves at a comfortable pace with clear guidance and plenty of encouragement. Build muscle, protect your bones, boost your energy — and enjoy great company while you’re at it.
Because it’s never too late to get stronger.
Goals:
- Create programs to increase strength, coordination and mobility in participants.
- Increase participants confidence in use of strength training equipment.
- Provide education and motivation to participants at every class.
- Create a great community to increase consistency and enjoyment of resistance training.
S4L is not suitable for:
- Individuals requiring specific programs for injuries, conditions or illnesses. We highly recommend our physiotherapists or EP’s to provide this service.
- Higher needs individuals e..g. significant mobility restrictions, vision impaired etc. We highly recommend our physiotherapists or EP’s to provide this service.
- Experienced individuals seeking high intensity cardiovascular or strength training. We recommend our Group Fitness classes (see timetable at reception/website) or speaking with one of the Alive Personal trainers.
Cost of classes:
Single classes: $20 per class (member) $25 per class (non-member)
10 class package: $150 per class (member) $200 per class (non-member)
